The Students of History Scholarship

Students of History is committed to the importance of meaningful history lessons in middle school and high school. Our $1,000 college scholarship is awarded annually to college-bound seniors who show a love of history and learning.

Our Scholarship

Students of History wants students to continue their passion for social studies beyond high school and reward those who show a dedication to learning history.

We are proud to sponsor the Students of History Scholarship for one graduating senior each year. The $1,000 scholarship is paid directly to the recipient.

In order to apply, you must:

  1. Plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution next year.
  2. Complete at least 3 social studies or history classes in high school.
  3. Have the recommendation of a social studies/history teacher.
  4. Submit your application and recommendation by May 1, 2024.

How to Apply

Students: You can access the online scholarship application here. The application no longer requires a written essay. Starting this year, the application now instead requires a "video essay" in which you upload a video in which you answer the question:

What was your favorite lesson or activity in your history classes and why?

As you work on your application (or after), please direct a history teacher of yours to this page to complete the recommendation form. You should have at least 1 and no more than 3 teacher recommendations.
