Digital Learning Activities for US History

If you've been forced to move to Distance Learning, have recently gone 1:1 in your school,  or just want to use more Digital activities with your students, my Google Drive notebook sets are an amazing resource for your social studies students.

Each digital interactive notebook set covers an entire unit in US History and include 8 to 15 pages of activities. Each page features short directions and links to online sources for kids to learn about the topics covered. There's over 150 pages on US History in all!

The activities on each page vary to ensure students are learning in various ways.  Some pages have students drag-and-drop events along timelines of important events. Other pages require students to insert images or respond to prompts. The variety is perfect for keeping students engaged.

There's also pages on vocabulary, geography, primary sources, and all the important information students need to know about each unit in US History.

Students type directly on the pages, insert images, and drag and drop information for a variety of engaging, interactive activities. The digital notebooks are a great way to integrate technology and don't require any paper! They're perfect for Remote Learning, Blended Learning, or just a trip to the computer lab.

All of the pages are entirely editable as well, in case you need to make any changes, or differentiate for students in your classroom. Differentiation might mean linking some students to a higher level source and others to a more basic website to learn about certain content. Or, you could have students complete different pages within the set. Each set includes so many activities, that it is easy to pick and choose which you want to use.

You can download a free set of pages here to try out! That packet includes pages for both US History and World History.

You can download ALL 17 Complete US History Units here. If you don't need all of them for the whole course, you have a few different options. Each is available individually or broken out into 2 halves of American History.

US History Part 1 Digital Notebook Bundle

This first set of digital activities is perfect for those who teach US History 1 from the Colonies through Reconstruction (or 1600-1877).  Each set is available individually through the links below or here as a single Bundle

If you teach American History Part 2, I have this Digital Notebook Bundle that covers 1877 - present. Each unit set is available individually through the links below as well:

Answer keys are included for every set along with 2 pages of teacher directions. All you only need is a Google account and you're ready to go!

The digital activities can be assigned through Google Classroom or any other Learning Management System your school uses. They can be completed all online with laptops, tablets, or any other device that supports Google Drive! Students can even use the Google Slides App to work on them with their phones!

I have used these successfully with both middle school and high school students in US History. They are perfect for 8th grade US History and are SO much more engaging than worksheets or packets for kids to work on.

Thanks so much for stopping by to check them out!
